Title of the presentation

High resolution persistent scatterer pair SAR interferometry for building and infrastructure monitoring: technique, accuracy, and examples based on COSMO-SkyMed data

Biography

Mario Costantini received the PhD in Geoinformation from the University “Tor Vergata,” Rome, and, the Dottore Degree in Physics from the University “La Sapienza,” Rome, Italy. He worked in universities, international research organizations, among which the European Space Agency and the NASA, and companies. Currently he is the Head of Algorithm and Processing-System Engineering at e-GEOS, a company of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Telespazio, Rome.

In the course of his career, Dr. Costantini has obtained significant results in the development of algorithms for signal processing and remote sensing, and in the realization of Earth Observation processors and value-added products based on radar and optical satellite data. Among the other things, he and his team have worked on synthetic aperture radar interferometry, multi/hyperspectral image analysis, phase unwrapping, stereoscopy, data fusion, classification, machine learning. His research interests include, in general, algorithms for extracting information and taking actions from images and data.

Dr. Costantini is author of various international patents and scientific papers. He received awards for the realization of technical innovations from ESA, NASA, and Finmeccanica holding.
